WRS Board Member

John Lummis serves as a board member, advisor, and investor in the insurance sector.  He is a board member at Kairos Acquisition Corp., a publicly held SPAC, where he chairs the audit committee.  He is an advisor to Insight Catastrophe Group which owns a leading MGA writing catastrophe-exposed homeowners insurance.   He is also an advisor with NYCA, a leading fintech venture capital firm, and with Pelican Ventures Group, an insurance-focused investment fund.  He is the CEO of Soncy Capital, which advises and invests in the early-stage insurance business.  

John has served in a range of executive roles over his career, including as CEO of AQR Re, COO, and CFO of Renaissance Re, Vice President of Business Development at USF&G, and as a board member of various public and private companies.   Institutional Investor recognized John as one of the top CFOs in the insurance sector.  He began his career in the corporate practice of Shearman & Sterling, a law firm.  

John serves on the audit and investment committees at the Wyoming Retirement System.  He is chair of the investment committee at the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole and is a board member at the Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum.

John has a law degree from the University of Michigan and received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University.
