2024 Annual Earnings Statement and 1099-R Tax Form Information

WRS retiree earnings statements and 1099-R tax forms are sent directly to you from our custodian bank. Hard copy 1099-R tax forms will be timely mailed to you no later than January 31, 2025.

WRS retirees may receive more than one 1099-R tax form for your WRS pension plan(s) if you have more than one pension account or have turned 59 and one-half in 2024. As a reminder, WRS cannot provide tax advice and recommends consulting a tax professional for tax specific questions or guidance related to W-4P tax form changes.

Due to high call volumes, please allow our team up to two business days to return your voicemail message as we return calls in the order they are received.

Direct Deposit

WRS strongly suggests the use of direct deposit. All benefit payments are deposited directly to your financial institution by the last working day of each month. Each payment represents your retirement benefit for the preceding month.

You may make changes to your direct deposit in your Online Pension Account, or with a Direct Deposit Change Form.

Payroll Statements

Payroll statements are posted to your Online Pension Account shortly after the payroll date each month. Additionally, a statement is mailed or an email notification sent for any month when a change is made to your account which impacts your payment.

An end-of-year payroll statement, with December’s payment and totals for the year are sent in late December of each year for your records and may be useful in providing insurance premium totals and other totals for the year.
