Changing Your 457 Deferred Compensation Contributions

  • For participants who have an established 457 Deferred Compensation account who were auto enrolled with the State, auto enrolled with the eight non-state agencies, or used the Online Plan Enrollment code to enroll can change their contributions electronically through the Empower participant website at wrsdcp.com.
  • Participants who have an established 457 Deferred Compensation account, who were not auto enrolled or enrolled with the plan enrollment code, will complete the paper paycheck contribution election form to change their contributions. These forms are not required for WRS approval signatures. These forms will be completed by the participant and given directly to the payroll contact for processing. The paycheck contribution election form can be found on our website https://retirement.wyo.gov/about/wrsforms/.
  • Military Make-Up Contributions:
    • In accordance with 26 U.S.C. § 414(u)(2), any employee on extended unpaid military leave shall be given the opportunity to make additional contributions to the 457 Deferred Compensation Plan within five years of reemployment and the employer shall make any matching contributions which would have been required had such contributions been made during the period of qualified military service. Contribution Limits

 Age 2025 Limit
18-49 $23,500 (This is regular limit)
50-59 Regular limit + $7500 = $31,000 total
60-63 Regular limit+$11,250 = $34,750 total
50+ Special Catch up Up to the greater of total annual salary or $47,000 upon qualification*
