Online Pension Account Setup

To set up your Online Pension Account access for the first time, visit: https://pension.wyo.gov/Account/Register.

Step 1: You will need 3 pieces of information: your RAIN ID, your Social Security Number and your Date-of-Birth. If an email address is already on file for you, a confirmation email will be sent to that address. If you do not have access to the email address WRS has on file, you must contact WRS to reset it.

You will be asked to enter an email address if none is on file. WRS encourages all members to use a personal email address as their online account username and contact email. It is important that WRS is able to contact you even after you retire or leave your current employer. You may change the email address/username in your online pension account.

Step 2: The verification email will come from do-not-reply@wyo.gov and the subject reads: “Portal Account Verification”. It can take a few minutes to show up in your inbox, be sure to check your spam folder to be sure it didn’t end up there. Once you receive the email, open it up and click on the “Verify” link.

Step 3: You will be taken to a page which asks you to set up a password. In order to provide a high level of security, the elements you need to include in your password are: at least 9 characters; a capital letter; a number; and a special character like a pound sign, dollar sign, percent, etc. Once you’ve created a password, you will be prompted to log in to the portal.

Returning Users

If you can’t remember the email address/username you used to set up your account, or no longer have access to the email address used to set up your account, contact WRS to reset your online account.

If you can’t remember your password, use the “reset password” link on the login screen to reset. If you are locked out after too many failed password attempts, contact WRS to reset your online account.

Unrecognized Computer: If you get an “Unrecognized Computer” message each time you attempt to log in, you may need to change your browser’s security settings. Your Online Pension Account uses a ‘Cookie’ to verify you are using a computer previously verified as belonging to you.

Some users have experienced issues with the default security settings in Internet Explorer. Please use the instructions above to adjust your security settings, or download Google Chrome or Firefox.

* All projected income amounts are in today's dollars. However, because inflation decreases spending power, the savings recommendation is based on a 3% projected inflation rate in order to ensure your investments maintain their spending power. Your pension and Social Security may or may not keep pace with inflation. The calculator assumes your money will grow at a tax-deferred rate of 5% during retirement and at the end of your retirement period, your balance is $0.
