Tom Chapman is a principal with Teewinot Partners, LLC, a global investor in hedge funds, real estate and private equity funds. Previously, he was a vice president with Gardner Capital Management Corporation, a New York City-based family office where he managed the firm's real estate and hedge fund investment strategies. Prior to that, Chapman was a founding member of Colony Capital, LLC's Asian business, based in Singapore, where he focused on distressed real estate investments across the Asia Pacific region. Mr. Chapman started his career at Tudor Investment Corporation, where he worked as a proprietary global macro trader in London.
He also serves on the board of directors of Tropical Wave Corporation in Vietnam, and the Investment Committee for the Valparaiso Investment Fund (Real Estate - Southeast Asia). Chapman has also served on the board of directors of Nirvana Capital Limited in Hong Kong (Venture Capital - Asia), and the board of visitors at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He serves on the International Board of the JDRF, had been chairman of the JDRF's Investment Committee for the last four years and also serves on its finance committee.
Chapman received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA degree from Columbia Business School. In his capacity as a trustee of the Wyoming Retirement System, Chapman currently serves on the Investment, Deferred Compensation and Audit committees. He is an at-large board member and lives in Jackson.
